Renowned for its delicious produce, the West Country is also one of the most beautiful areas of the UK and the Georgian city of Bath is a real jewel in its crown. Flavours of Bath (Saturdays, booking essential) combines a foodie tour of the city with a hands-on seasonal cooking lesson. Join us as we wander down Bath's cobbled streets to see what's on offer within its many innovative, independent food emporiums, before spending the afternoon nestled in a Georgian townhouse learning how to cook up a three course gourmet meal of Modern British dishes that will delight even the most discerning dinner guests.
Flavours of Bath is a gastronomic all-day extravaganza that can’t be missed and is great for corporate event days, private cookery lessons or simply just great family day's out!
Bath is the perfect destination for special getaways; steeped in history, it’s famed for its stunning architecture, fantastic shopping and spectacular countryside. It’s also home to the UK’s only natural hot springs in Britain! But more importantly for food lovers, it’s a city renowned for hospitality, its winding streets dotted with award winning restaurants, country pubs and quaint tearooms. From elegant charcuteries, to eco-bakeries, organic wholefoods stores, and the UK's first ever farmers' market, there's plenty to see - and taste. Which makes it the perfect location for Cookery Coach’s special food tour.
Join Cookery Coach founder and head chef Neville Leaning as he guides you around Bath’s hottest food stops to pick up ingredients for the afternoon cooking lesson. Born and bred in the West Country, Nev is ideally placed to let you in on the city’s best-kept secrets. We believe in buying local produce wherever possible; not only is it better for the environment, but you can really taste the difference. When you join us on our gourmet walking tour you’ll be helping us support local businesses. You’ll also get the chance to indulge in some of the region’s finest local produce along the way.
During the tour we invite you to make the most out of shopping with a professional chef. We believe there’s no question too big or too small, so fire away and look forward to learning a whole host of food-buying tips, like what to look out for when buying fresh fish or what to consider before buying different cuts of meat. By the time you get back to the kitchen, you’ll be brimming with new ideas - and the confidence to put them into action!
Once we’ve got a full basket of fresh produce, it’s time to retire to Cookery Coach HQ for a hands-on cookery lesson in the heart of Bath that will show you how to bring all the ingredients together to create a gourmet three-course meal. We change our menus seasonally to ensure the dishes are packed with flavour, but they always stick to the Cookery Coach ethos – modern British dishes and classics with a twist.
